A NEW WAY TO INSPIRE, ORGANIZE & MOBILIZE
Montana Interfaith Power & Light.
As we increasingly see climate impacts across the globe and right here in our Montana communities — from more frequent droughts, to more extreme weather, to more severe wildfires — we hear creation crying out and our most vulnerable communities suffering. Montana Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) can provide the framework to inspire, organize, and mobilize, as people of faith and conscience, to take effective action on the climate crisis with solutions specific to Montana’s needs that build a future for us all.
We provide a supportive community learning environment for participants to discuss climate change and our moral obligations to families, neighbors, future generations, and vulnerable populations, and — fundamentally — to our planet. We emphasize learning and working to benefit all of our communities across Montana.
BUILDING OUR ORGANIZATION
We are focusing on gaining congregation and individual partners. We invite you to put your faith into action by reading more, and then completing our invitation.
COMMUNITY LEARNING
The Faith, Science & Climate Action Conferences provide a supportive community learning environment for participants to discuss climate change and our moral obligations to families, neighbors, future generations, and vulnerable populations, and — fundamentally — to our planet. Read more about and watch videos from our 2020 virtual conference at fscaconference.org .
EFFECTING CHANGE
As we all begin to acknowledge the enormity of the scope of destruction of our fragile island home, we can become paralyzed, but life must change — on individual and community levels. Join us in learning how to effect the changes needed to stop and reverse the damage before it is too late.
ENGAGING ADVOCACY
Faith and Climate Action Montana (FCAM) works to educate individual and faith communities about climate science and impacts, creating space for spiritual reflection on climate-related environmental issues; and facilitate action to address the climate crisis via advocacy and local organizing.
NEWS & EVENTS
Many people experience trauma and grief when daily confronted with the changes happening to our planet from social and cultural effects. With our programs, we endeavor to provide tools to mitigate the impact of these experiences. The goal is to allow us to re-engage effectively while not losing our sense of self or strength to continue to help improve our situation, individually and as a community.
